<National Report> Today it seems everyone wants to name something after Trayvon Martin, the 17 year-old felon who attacked a Neighborhood Watch captain on the night of February 26, 2012, and brutally beat him. The victim George Zimmerman, 29, of Sanford, Florida was armed when Martin jumped him from behind. As the teen brutally smashed Zimmerman’s head on the pavement the victim pulled his handgun and dispatched the felon into eternity.
Taurus President & CEO Forjas Taurus, of Brazil told reporters earlier today that the new Trayvon PK-10 will be available in the U.S. before Christmas. In a previously released press release from Taurus Arms Inc., the new Trayvon PK-10 is a 10mm close quarter carbine with a blowback-operated system that fires from the closed-bolt position.
The PK-10 carbine’s upper receiver is constructed of aluminum with an integral full-length Picatinny rail with sights attached. The rear sight is fully adjustable and the square-post front sight has a protective hood. The convertible charging handle can be switched for right- or left-handed shooters. The PK-10 carbine incorporates a versatile polymer handguard that can accommodate 3 additional Picatinny rails in the 3-6- and 9 O’clock positions for the addition of accessories.
When asked why the company decided to name the latest in firearms technology after the infamous American teen felon Trayvon Martin, Mr. Taurus said, “It wasn’t widely known or covered in the media but the handgun that no doubt saved the life of Mr. Zimmerman was a Taurus PT 24/7 PRO .45 caliber. One shot is all it should take to get the job done and we stand behind our claim.”
