<National Report> Today on the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) will host a gathering of one million people in Washington, DC, denouncing “FBI traps” and urging the government to reveal “the truth” about 9/11. Though the march was just shy of the 1,000,000 mark by only 999,979, the 21 Muslims present said it has been “an exciting day of Muslim unity and Islamic brotherhood.”
The march on the nation’s capitol was to show Muslim solidarity among American- Muslims and to denounce “FBI traps” and the “illegal tapping and surveilling of Muslim Americans,” including the “media propaganda making the word terrorist synonymous with Muslim,” said Isa Hodge, organizer of the march, last month.
Hodge said, “Our government either sits idly by and does nothing to protect our freedoms or it exacerbates the problem with its constant war on terrorism in Islamic countries, congressional hearings on Islam in America, and its changes to the [National Defense Authorization Act],” have resulted in American Muslims facing constant oppression and discrimination for nearly 12 years following the attack on the World Trade Center.
Protesters will also urge the government to reveal “the truth” about 9/11, which Hodge claims has been partially covered up by the US government. “We want to hold President Obama accountable for his empty promises of creating a transparent government” Hodge said. “What exactly have we spent all our money, lost lives and taken lives for? The entire record of the 9/11 Commission [Report] has never been released.”
In response to critics who condemn Hodge for choosing 9/11 as the date of the march, the AMPAC member said Muslims were also among those who were victimized in the attacks. “There were Muslim firefighters, police officers, first responders,” he told US News. “That day was not only an attack on Americans but a deeper attack on Muslim Americans… we were not only victims but made villains.”
The AMPAC hopes to repeat the success of the 1995 Million Man March, a large gathering on the National Mall, in which an estimated 1.5-2 million protesters stood up for African-American civil rights to “convey to the world a vastly different picture of the Black male.”
The AMPAC also hopes to make the march an annual event in Washington, D.C. MD Alam, founder of AMPAC, said in an earlier press release. “Every year on September 11th, beginning in 2012, we will be marching in Washington, DC as we build toward our goal of bringing one million American Muslims to march in our nation’s capital.”
Hodge added, “We American Muslims reject violence and terrorism, and defend the Constitutional rights of all Americans.”
What is responsible for the dismal turnout I wondered? While interviewing some of the Muslim’s who attended I asked if they knew why so few had joined today’s march. “I do know that several thousand American Muslims left for the U.K. about a month ago on the word of Allah to join in Muslim solidarity there and most have yet to return. They departed after learning their brothers of Islam were raping record numbers of young girls and women to teach those godless infidel whores a lesson,” said attendee Aakifah Rahimi, of Florida.
Another man I spoke to Badr al Din Fayad, said the event though small didn’t dampen the spirits of those present, “You could feel the energy of the people, it was powerful.” Why so few turned out today, I asked. Fayad replied, “I don’t know, we’d expected a much larger turnout. There were a few stonings around the country today which always draws a few hundred people.”
By stonings you mean people being stoned as a form of punishment? I asked. “Yes,” said Fayad. “Under Sharia Law which guides all aspects of Muslim life including daily routines, familial and religious obligations, and financial dealings stoning is a form of punishment men often use in domestic situations.”
But stonings are a death sentence for the person being stoned right? I asked. “Yes, it is also the way a man divorces an unfaithful wife.” And this is going on here in the U.S.? Fayad responded saying, “Yes there are a few happening today, I know one happening in New York and another in Florida. There is one out west but I do not remember where.”
Needless to say the Muslim Million Man March on Washington today turned out not to be much of a news story after all. And according to the Muslim community in attendance today plenty of Muslims from around the nation who had planned to attend were either sent to the U.K. last month to punish white infidel women for being sluts by raping them, or they became involved with a local stoning and wanted to get a few shots in at a brothers wife who had it coming for her unfaithfulness. Perhaps next years event will turn out to be much larger.
